Practice Greek conversation, corrected in English.
For heritage speakers, partners of Greeks and anyone who understands more Greek than they can say. Talk about ordinary things; every slip is explained in one plain English sentence.
Five mistakes almost every Greek learner makes
These are the corrections Parlenta gives most often. Each one comes with a single English sentence, not a grammar lecture.
| Topic | You write | Correct | Why, in one line |
|---|---|---|---|
| Article gender | στο θάλασσα | στη θάλασσα | θάλασσα is feminine, so σε + τη gives στη. |
| Future aspect | αύριο θα γράφω | αύριο θα γράψω | One finished action takes the perfective stem; θα γράφω is ongoing or repeated. |
| Stress mark | δεν πάω ποτε | δεν πάω ποτέ | The accent changes the word: ποτέ means never, πότε means when. |
| Final -ν | κλείσε τη πόρτα | κλείσε την πόρτα | την keeps its ν before a vowel or before κ, π, τ, ξ, ψ and μπ, ντ, γκ, τσ, τζ. |
| Polite “you” | Τι θέλεις; (to a waiter) | Τι θέλετε; | With strangers and older people, use the plural εσείς form as a courtesy. |

Greek questions
Is this Modern Greek?
Yes: standard Modern Greek. Regional words are understood, but corrections follow the standard.
Do I need to read the Greek alphabet?
Reading it helps, since the conversation is in Greek script. To write, type in Latin letters or use the on-screen Greek keyboard.
I understand Greek but freeze when I speak. Will this help?
That is exactly who it is for. Voice mode lets you talk without interruptions, then shows the transcript with your corrections.
What level do I need?
Any. You choose where to start, and Parlenta adjusts as it sees how you write.
